The Chichester
College/ExOD Initial Assessment and Diagnostic System
(IADS) is designed to provide, in a single application, the ability to assess students
in the following areas:
- Application of Numbers from entry level 1 through to Key Skill level 3
- Communications: from entry level 1 through to Key Skill level
3
- Information Communication & Technology: from
Key Skill level 1 and level 2

The output is
an initial assessment of a student’s
capability which is designed to form the
basis of further discussion and review
between the student and their Personal Tutor.
The diagnostic element compares the answer with its related topic in order that an individual learning plan can be prepared for each student.
Benefits:
The availability of a easy-to-use
student assessment system provides tutors
with additional quantitative feedback on an
individuals capabilities and potential
weaknesses in three key learning areas. This
system enhances, not replaces, a tutors
ability to quickly identify student ability
and to provide timely guidance and support
in areas of potential weakness. The ability
to undertake ad-hoc assessments as training
progresses enables the tutor to understand
the students rate of improvement and to
focus on areas of ongoing problem.

The Chichester
College/ExOD Initial Assessment System is:
- Mapped to the Basic Skills
curriculum
- Designed so that the screen lay-out is similar to the National Test
lay-out
- Organised so that the sorting criteria produce reports which can assist
with early
identification of Students who may have
specific learning difficulties
- Designed to produce reports which allow Tutors to view results of groups of students at a
glance
